I have been exhibiting my work since 2005, sold as far afield as Australia, Abu Dhabi, New Jersey and New Zealand. Teaching secondary Art & Design education since 2003, covering fine art, textiles and photography from year five to advanced level, I have a wealth of experience of working with mixed ability groups.
I love enthusing others in the subject that I am passionate about and my workshops are perfect for adults or children. I have adapted for online delivery and successfully delivered live, online workshops as well as face to face.

Coastal Creations
Inspired by my 'Moments in Time' collection this workshop requires a full day or can be delivered over a series of shorter sessions. It is full on, hands on and expressive workshop in which you'll work from your own images of coastal locations. I will supply the materials and media as well as demonstrate the techniques that I use, you will experiment with them and hopefully create your own artwork inspired by your photograph. You'll even get help with the sewing machine if you've not used one for a while! These examples are from the workshop delivered in June 2025 at the Northern Arts Club in Aberdeen

Common Threads in a Divided World
This workshop took place in December 2020 via zoom, in association with ArtSpeak.
Participants on this course completed three workshops covering photography and learning to see abstract compositions, painting on to paper and fabric and finally using hand and machine stitch to texturise and further develop their work. Here is a selection of the students' work.

Working from photographs for abstract colour and texture inspiration you will analyse images to consider suitable areas to respond to for your samples. You will have a choice of materials to work on. You will apply colour using a range of media. Once dry, you will stitch and manipulate with heat to create a range of textural effects.

Working from photographs of natural forms or landscape or you can even bring a photograph of your own to work from. We will analyse images to consider suitable areas to respond to for your piece of art. You will add colour to represent your chosen image as you see it. Once dry, you will deconstruct your fabric and manipulate with heat. You will eventually reconstruct your image to create an abstract textural final outcome.
