My Scottish Adventure
I moved to Scotland in December 2020. Although I wasn't born here and I'm not Scottish through any birth right, I've been coming here since I was about seven years old. Firstly for family holidays, then to visit my best friend in the RAF at Kinloss and eventually to visit my parents who moved here in 2014. I feel very connected to this country and its wonderful mountains, lochs, coasts and people. It seemed inevitable that I would live here myself and luckily my husband loves it too. I love my studio by the sea in Whinnyfold, Aberdeenshire and feel very blessed to live in this beautiful part of the world.

Moments in Time
Aberdeenshire's skies are just so beautiful and I photograph so many sunrises and sunsets that they just had to feature in my work at some point. I absolutely love the skies here in Aberdeenshire and have amassed quite a collection of photographs.
These circles are the first of my mixed media textile responses to my sky photographs and can be purchased from £75 in a simple, unglazed box frame, plus packaging & postage.
This constantly growing, colourful collection called 'Moments in Time' has already started to bring sunshine to new homes all over the UK.

Locally Inspired
From my photographs of the Forvie Nature Reserve, Hackley Bay and Collieston, I created a series of smaller mixed media textile artworks. The top three have now been sold but the set of three, abstract pieces, framed in white frames are currently still available.

Rusty Hut by the North Sea 1, 2 & 3
It didn't take long for me to fall in love with this rusty old fishing hut in Port Errol Harbour, Cruden Bay. I took a number of photographs of the rusting exterior. These have resulted in a series of three mixed media textile artworks. The first one of these has now been sold but No.2 and No.3 are available for £700, framed. |
Photo-stitch originals inspired by Cruden Bay

Whinnyfold Bay
Just north of Aberdeen City and south of Peterhead lies Cruden Bay; a beautiful pinkish sandy bay, popular with kite surfers and famous for it's connections with Bram Stoker, the writer and creator of Dracula. Nearby, New Slains Castle and it's octagonal centre room is said to have inspired Dracula's castle. Whinnyfold Bay is an historic fishing hamlet, which lies at the southern tip of Cruden Bay. Bram stoker used to visit and take tea here. He is said to have taken much inspiration from the Skares (the rocky reef) here. I too have found much inspiration for my artwork in this scenic location with its rocks, beaches and colourful skies.
